There are officially 7 weeks left until the end of 2017! I have decided I will try to better myself with a different goal every week, tackling them until the end of the year. My hope is that some will stick through into the New Year! The following goals I have chosen because they are either something I know I need to work on, or healthy habits I would like to incorporate into my lifestyle.

WEEK 1- November 12- November 19
A Week of Only Water- Ask my parents or any roommates I have had and they will tell you I hardly EVER drink a glass of water. To the point where they think it is unhealthy and they have expressed their concern about my water intake. I have tried adding fruits, drinking sparkling or flavoured drops but I still would rather drink coffee or tea.
As an experiment, I am going to cut out coffee, tea and my occasional glass of wine for 7 consecutive days. I will only drink water, and will be drinking at least 8 glasses per day. I will record the process each day and hopefully see enough positive results that I will continue to drink water through the rest of the 2017 and into the New Year.
It may sound dramatic, but I actually don’t know if I am going to be able to do this haha. I will keep you posted on the results.
WEEK 2- November 19- November 26
A Week of No Technology After 10pm- This one is pretty self-explanatory. I find myself working and sometimes just browsing on Social Media until 1 or 2 in the morning when I planned on going to bed at 11pm. Once I do unplug for the evening, my eyes have been looking at bright screens for so long that I have even more trouble falling asleep. I know a lot of my friends have the same problem as well.
I should be able to unplug and relax for an hour or so, to rest my eyes and reflect on my day before heading to bed. Similar to the “Only Water” challenge, I will record my results for 7 days and post my findings on the blog, so stay tuned!
WEEK 3- November 26- December 3
A Week of Reading Every Day- I am most excited about this challenge because I have always loved reading. The issue is that I don’t give myself the time to relax and read a book. I am aiming to read at least 30 minutes per day. The goal is to finish the book I am currently reading and start a new one!
This is a hobby I truly enjoy and I believe allowing myself to read will bring me joy and Satisfy My Soul. As a work-a-holic, I sometimes feel guilty for reading instead of being productive. I need to remind myself that reading is not only educational, but gives me a break from technology and any stresses I may be feeling. I can’t wait for this week!
WEEK 4- December 3- December 10
A Week of Bullet Journaling- Since I began my blogging journey, I have been following a lot of bloggers and reading up on how they organize their lives. Many of them use bullet journals to organize their weeks and months. For the last year I have been using a planner I got at Indigo with lots of stickers and markers to outline my schedule. I really enjoy planning my weeks and it really helps me stay ahead of my To-Do List.
A bullet journal seems to be the next step up from a calendar because you track more than just your day-to-day events. Since I LOVE lists I think this would be a great habit for me to get into. If anyone has examples of bullet journals that have been useful to you or monthly spreads that you have enjoyed, let me know, I would love to see them!
WEEK 5- December 10- December 17
A Week of Asking Questions- This is an interesting one for me. I’ve always heard the scripture “Ask and ye shall receive.” I’ve also heard many people say in order to succeed, you simply have to reach out ask for help from successful people. Not only that, but ask yourself questions about what you want in life and how you are going to get it. See what you can achieve in a week if you really put your mind to it and go all out.
I am going to reach out to brands and bloggers that I support and ask them point blank questions. I am not sure yet what I will ask or in what capacity, but I will let you know what happens and whether this method actually worked for me.
After asking myself serious, hard questions about my life, maybe I’ll get to know myself better and have a better idea of how to achieve my goals. Maybe it’s truly that easy- you just have to ask. I will soon find out, and let you know!
WEEK 6- December 17- December 24
A Week of Waking Up At 8am- So I might be cheating a little bit with this week because it is the week before Christmas when I already have trouble sleeping. I am usually too excited about getting the most out of the holidays with my family to sleep.
I don’t usually sleep in too late, but I typically don’t get up before 9 or 10am. On the rare occasions that I do get up early, I am always so enchanted by the morning and I get so much done! When I start the day early, I am twice as productive and of course I get a lot done because I have more hours in my day! I don’t see why I don’t give myself this opportunity more often. This is something I really want to work on.
The problem is, I absolutely LOVE sleeping in, and it’s very difficult for me in the mornings to get out of bed. Hopefully this goal will continue after the end of 2017 into the New Year once I see how much I love the results.
WEEK 7- December 24- December 31
A Week of Meditation- I don’t know a lot about meditation, but I would really love to learn what it’s all about! I hear so many people having positive experiences meditating so I am really excited to research and try it out myself.
I will start the week with reading as much as I can about the process. Next, I will try meditation and see if it brings me peace, or if I can even clear my mind enough to be successful at it. I have never tried, but I bet it’s more difficult than it looks.
I chose the very end of 2017 to do this challenge so I can start 2018 fresh and with a calm mind and spirit.
