The Magic of Multitasking

the magic of multitasking

Much like the Marie Kondo book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” (review coming soon), multitasking can truly make a huge difference in your daily routine. I have noticed on the days where I implement “The Magic of Multitasking” I get so much more done in way less time.

Multitasking is not a new concept for most of us, but how often do we make the absolute most of our time in our daily lives? The key is to never find yourself waiting. There are so many ways to multitask, but I thought in this post I would share a few of my favourites with you.

When You Are Waiting For:

  • The kettle to boil – Do a few dishes

  • Food to reheat – Do a plank or some squats

  • The bathtub to fill – Clean the vanity/mirror

  • People to arrive – Tidy up your entry-way

  • A never-ending road trip – Brainstorm ideas/Projects

  • Your make-up application – Listen to an audiobook

  • Dinner to be ready – Throw in a load of laundry

  • Your soulmate- Build an empire

These are just a few ideas to get you started with the magic of multitasking. Of course, there are innumerable variations to these examples. I am always surprised with how much can get done when I do multiple things at once.

Do keep in mind that multitasking all day, every day can be a bit overwhelming, and it is important to take some time to yourself and rest.

I hope this post, the Magic of Multitasking was a good reminder of a life-hack that shouldn’t go unnoticed. If you have any other examples of multitasking that you do at home, let us know in the comments below! I would love to add it to the list.
