Every year around this time, a lot of us have resolutions to eat better, exercise more, and just be healthier overall. I have noticed that whenever I try to make a huge alteration in my diet or my fitness regime, I typically get tired of it within a couple weeks. It seems I have a lack of dedication if I aim too high in this area of my life. So, this year, I plan to make smaller, more attainable adjustments. In 2018, I plan on swapping out the not-so-great foods in my diet for healthier food alternatives!

15 Healthier Food Alternatives !
Wraps & Sandwiches: Lettuce wraps or open-face
Muffins & Cookies: Fruit, nut & oat energy balls
Lattés: Black Coffee with Cinnamon or Herbal Tea
Pasta: Vegetable Pasta like zoodles, or skip the noodles and just eat vegetables in tomato sauce
Soda Pop & Juice: Sparkling water or fruit infused water
Waffles & Pancakes: 2 ingredient banana & egg pancakes
Chips: Kale chips, raw veggies, or dried fruit
Flour Based Pizza Crust: Bell pepper crust or cauliflower crust
Dairy Milk: Almond milk or coconut milk
White Flour: Coconut flour or whole wheat flour
Iceberg Lettuce: Dark leafy greens with much more fibre, protein and nutrients
Chocolate Bars: A couple squares of dark chocolate
Ice Cream: Puréed frozen fruit
Apple Pie: Sautéed apples with a sprinkle of cinnamon
Breadcrumbs: When a recipe calls for breadcrumbs, use oats or chia seeds instead
