If you saw my post, The Four Temperaments, you will know that I have a huge interest in any sort of personality testing. I have always loved doing quizzes and analyzing the accuracy of the results. Potentially the most in-depth personality test includes 16 different personality types. This test is called The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
Also known as the MBTI, this test a questionnaire developed in 1943 by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers to determine your personality type.
Firstly, the questions in this quiz decide whether your character is primarily:
- Extroverted (E) or Introverted (I)
- Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
- Sensing (S) or Intuitive (N)
- Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)
As a result, there are 16 different combinations of these characteristics, which each have their own Myers-Briggs Type.
A brief summary of the 16 Personality Types include:
Architect – INTJ – Imaginative, Strategic, Planners
Logician – INTP – Innovative, Inventor, Thirst for Knowledge
Commander – ENTJ – Bold, Strong-Willed, Leader
Debater – ENTP – Smart, Curious, Enjoys a Challenge
Advocate – INFJ – Inspiring, Tireless, Idealist
Mediator – INFP – Poetic, Altruistic, Kind
Protagonist – ENFJ – Charismatic, Leader, Inspiring
Campaigner – ENFP – Enthusiastic, Sociable, Free-Spirit
Logistician – ISTJ – Practical, Fact-Minded, Reliable

Virtuoso – ISTP – Bold, Experimental, Master of Many Things
Adventurer – ISFP – Explorer, Artistic, Charming
Entrepreneur – ESTP – Smart, Energetic, Lives on the Edge
Entertainer – ESFP – Spontaneous, Energetic, Exciting
After doing this quiz, I have determined that I have the INFJ Myers-Briggs Type, which is also called the “Advocate” Type. The advocate type are not idle dreamers, meaning they take concrete steps to reach their goals. Their common traits include: Positivity, Creativity, Imaginative, Sensitive, Inspiring, Passionate and Determined. The “Advocate” makes up about 1% of the population, they are most commonly sole-proprietors, bloggers and musicians. (Wow, they really nailed that one on the head!)
