As of today, I have somewhere around 120 blog posts published! That is crazy to me as my blog has been live for less than 4 months. As a new blogger, I am still trying to figure out what exactly my niche will be. Right now, I have been doing a combination of lifestyle, inspiration and general interest posts. I love all of these and I am hoping they are all related enough that I can continue doing all 3 types. Looking back, I have truly enjoyed writing each and every post, so I thought I would do a list of my top 10 favourite blog posts so far in my blogging journey!
For each post, I will briefly describe why it is one of my top 10 favourite blog posts, as well as leave a link incase you haven’t had the chance to check them out!
Top 10 Favourite Blog Posts (So Far)
This was the very first blog post I ever published and I am still so proud of it. Natty is a dear friend of mine and she is absolutely full of ambition and knowledge. Meeting her at a coffee shop to do this interview and then heading to the park to photograph her yoga poses happens to be one of my favourite memories of last summer. It was a beautiful day and this blog post is such a wonderful reminder of everything I learned from her.
I would say that out of all of my blog posts, this one started the most conversations for me. It makes me so happy when other people join in on the fun and discuss what they think of one of my challenges. It seems that I am not the only one who struggles with drinking enough water. I am not alone and I definitely want to try this challenge again later this year!
My Black History Month post happens to be my most recent on this list of top 10 favourite blog posts so far. It is special to me because I believe having a blog means I have a responsibility to use my platform for good and for educational purposes as well. I may not have a very large voice in this world, but if I can do anything to help end prejudice or break the stigma then I will do the best I can. Learning about Black History Month was eye-opening and very interesting. I am so grateful for our diverse community here in Canada.
This post was one of the more light-hearted, fun ones that I have worked on so far. I LOVE personality tests and everything of the like, so naturally when I learned about the four temperaments I knew I had to share. Hearing what other people are is so interesting to me and I can’t get enough of other people’s posts on similar subjects, so why not make my own!?
Not only do I write this blog to motivate others, but it is also a very therapeutic way for me to remind myself the lessons I have learned over the years. I am still learning to say no and stand up for myself in certain situations. It can be difficult to love yourself and take care of yourself, but it is so important. Never be afraid to take time for yourself, even if it may seem a little selfish at the time, it is worth it. You can give more to others after you have cared for yourself first.
Ever since I started Satisfy Her Soul, I knew that I would get around to making Fricot and blogging about it. It is such a huge part of my Acadian heritage, and one of my go-to comfort foods. If you haven’t tried this chicken soup recipe yet, what are you waiting for!?
Out of my many Christmas inspired posts, it was very difficult to pick a favourite for this list. I decided on the Holiday Mulled Wine How-To, because I am really proud of how it turned out. I am not a photographer, so when I can make a post including my own photos, it makes me very happy. Over the next few months, I really want to invest in a better camera in order to make the photo quality on my blog even better. For now, I am pretty proud of the photos I took on this day!
In person, if you know me well enough, you know I’m pretty silly. I crack (lame) jokes more than I should, and am always giggling about something. While writing a blog, it is sometimes very difficult to include my personality into my writing. This open letter to my side hustle really brought out my sense of humour and reading it back, it is one of the posts that showcases best what I am like in real life. I would love to work on this skill and put more of myself and my personality into my writing in the future.
Although this post might not seem like an interesting one to some, in my opinion, this knowledge is gold. I spend hours researching this subject to find the best advice to share. Why? Because this is exactly the type of post I would be looking to read if I was just browsing online. I figure there must be other people out there like me who hate the bitter cold of Winter and are scavenging the internet to find tips like these!
This post makes my top 10 for many reasons. Firstly, I was in my living room with my family while interviewing this lovely lady in person. In addition to being an incredible boss lady, she also happens to be my brother’s girlfriend, so interviewing her was a no brainer. I asked her questions after dinner one night over Christmas break, and was astounded by her answers. I knew this woman was intelligent and altruistic, but I had no idea how involved she was in making a difference in the lives of others. I’m not sure what I ended up loving more- the interview, learning about Cheryl or how the post turned out. Either way, it definitely is one of my favourites so far!
