Sweet A La Mode – Toronto

sweet a la mode

Lately, I have been loving exploring new restaurants and cafés around Toronto. When I heard that this new café, Sweet A La Mode, was both aesthetically pleasing and delicious, I grabbed my camera (and my boyfriend) and we headed down to check it out!

I cannot tell you how unbelievably beautiful, delicate and magical this café is. When we first walked in, we noticed this gorgeous artificial lemon tree at the entrance. We learned later after speaking with the staff that it was actually hand-made of sugar! So stunning and detailed.

Sweet A La Mode is probably known best for their desserts, like pastries, cakes and ice creams. All of which looked good enough to polish off in one sitting! I didn’t get a photo of the ice cream because I was too busy scarfing it down, hehe.

Another thing I noticed at Sweet A La Mode was the painted artwork on the walls. It is a rather large space with lots of seating and gorgeous atmosphere. Whoever this artist is deserves mad props for all of their incredible work at this café.

This is just one of the murals:

After speaking with the very friendly staff, I learned that Sweet A La Mode hosts “High Tea” every weekend. They offer both sweet and savoury options and hot or cold tea. The food honestly looks like art! I definitely need to schedule a tea-party with my friends at the nearest possible date. How cute and fun would that be?!

I am not yet accustomed to the taste of straight up espresso, but it looked so good that I had to try it. I will say, it was a bit more acidic than I like, but when I paired it with a chocolate chip cookie, it was perfectly balanced.

If you live in Toronto, definitely give them a visit, especially if you have a sweet tooth like me! I know my boyfriend, David wants to go back and try their amazing looking cheesecakes!

Let me know if you’ve been to Sweet A La Mode or checked out their photos on social media! I would love to know what you think and if you’re as excited about it as I am. I can’t wait to go there someday and work on my blog in the beautiful atmosphere!

I hope you enjoyed this mini-review of this gem of a café! Feel free to reach out to me on Twitter     Instagram    &     Pinterest ! I would love to connect with you.
